A Bit About ZOë
I tell stories through writing, interviews, audio, and video. For audiences online, on their couch, or at an event. Because stories drive connections no matter where you are.
I’m a creative generalist specialized in video content. I really do it all. I’ve spent time writing scripts for the popular edutainment series, What IF, using journalistic standards to write compelling but science-based and accurate episodes. I’ve edited social content for SaaS companies and influencers, employing the ever-evolving tricks of social media to ensure audiences want to consume my client’s content. I’ve also created long form specials that highlight the importance of local non-profits, using heart-warming interviews to share the real impact these organizations make.
Over the last decade of content creation, I’ve learned that there is never too much story out there. Audiences of all types crave the emotional connection and recognition that comes from good storytelling - whether in a 30 second short or a 30 minute broadcast program. But storytelling doesn’t live in a vacuum, to build long-term connection, you need to build trust. I believe that in the modern age, audience trust is built through consistency, sincerity, and a clear tone and style.
I’ve also gained enough experience in audience analytics to understand how informative data is, and also where it can fall short. As a tool, data analytics can help you optimize your format, show you who is tuning in (and who isn’t), and what topics are or aren’t sticking. But humans aren’t static, and culture changes before data can record it. Understanding changing audiences and tailoring good story-centric content requires a balance of good data and emotional intelligence. I offer both those things, and more. What I love most about creating video content is that very marriage of strategic, problem solving, logical thinking with intuitive, artistic, and spontaneous creation.
